Hinckley CRC Tuesday Night 10 – 03.09.24 Hi All, The last Tuesday Night 10 TT of 2024 attracted the highest number of riders with 32 taking to the start on the K41/10, on a warm night with a 5mph breeze from the North West. It was back to winning ways to Team Enable, finishing off the Tuesday Night time trials with a victory, this time with Simon Law. It was good to welcome back Coventry Tri returning with 14 riders. Results Overall – 1st Simon Law (Team Enable) 21.41, 2nd Stephen Spooner (Cov Tri) 21.57 and his fastest time of the year and 3rd Jonathan Durnin (WVCC) 22.49. First female rider was Cathy Scholes (Cov Tri) 30.05 and her fastest time of the year, 2nd Natalie Williamson (Cov Tri) 30.07 & 3rd Naomi Leonard (Cov Tri) 31.37. 1st Hinckley rider home was Matt Mann in 24.15 & 6th overall, followed by Andy Thomas 24.39 (PB) & 7th overall. Full results are on the website - hinckleycrc.org The winners of the inaugural Trevor Page Trophy are Matthew Mann setting an average time of 22.00 with maximum time bonuses and Eleanor Mather, again claiming maximum time bonuses, giving her an average time of 26.04. The maximum time bonuses were claimed for marshalling at 6 events. The Penultimate Tuesday Night 10 of 2024 attracted 18 riders to the start on the K41/10, on a warm night with a 9 mph breeze from the South West and the odd rain shower. Results Overall – 1st Joe Murray (Team Bottrill) 22.32 and Joe’s second win of the season, 2nd Lauren Creamer (Velo Fixers) 22.47 and 3rd Oliver Searle (Team Enable) 23.05. First female rider was Lauren Creamer (Velo Fixers) 22.47 & 2nd overall, 2nd Debbie Cooper (HCRC) 27.31 13th overall & 3rd Eleanor Mather (HCRC) 27.52 & 14th overall with another fastest time of the year so far. 1st HCRC rider home was Matt Mann in 24.07 & 4th overall, followed by Declan Kemble in 25.32 & 9th overall with again his fastest time of the year so far. Tuesday Night 10 attracted 21 riders to the start on the K41/10, with 8 riders riding for the first time this year, on a warm night with a 9 mph breeze from the South West. Results Overall - 1st Mark Styles 21.32, 2nd and first female rider Lauren Creamer (Velo Fixers) 22.31 and 3rd James Evans (Race Ride Fire) 23.19. Lauren set the second fastest time for a female rider this year just 4 seconds behind April Tacey. 1st HCRC rider home was Matt Mann, this week riding in 23.40 & 5th overall and 2nd was Andy Thomas 24.49 10th overall & Debbie Cooper 26.55 and 14th overall. 1st Tricycle rider was Jack Jones from LFCC in 31.50, it’s been a long time since we last had a tricycle at the TNT’s. After a 6 week break, the Tuesday Night 10’s restarted with 27 riders taking to the start on the K41/10, on a warm night with a 9 mph breeze from the South West. Results Overall - 1st Joe Murray (Team Bottrill) 22.30 and Joe’s fastest time of the year so far, 2nd Mike Costello (Race Hub) 22.38, also his fastest time of the year and 3rd Ian Cooper 22.46. Fantastic result for Joe in his first year back following a long break and in his new Team Colours. 1st HCRC rider was Matt Mann in a two up with Simon Law 24.33, 10th overall and 2nd was Simon Baxter 28.04 PB and 26th overall. Joe also managed to break Team Enable’s domination of the TNT’s so far this year with Oliver coming home in 4th place and Mick Wills 9th. Hinckley CRC 25 mile 4-up Team Time Trial – 30th June 2024 – K41/25 The event was based at Wolvey C of E Primary School, with the first team away at 09:34.am, with a team from Ratae RC leading the riders off. The event was organised by Mark Bingley, Hinckley Cycle Race Club Secretary, Timekeeper was Laurie Bird and Recorder was Guy Mellor. This year saw 7 teams enter the event, on a cool morning with a 11 mph breeze from the North West. The event attracted entries from the following clubs/teams:- HCRC, Apache Brave Racing, API/Anglia Sport, Coalville Wheelers, Ratae RC, Rugby RCC and Welland Valley. The event was held to raise funds for this year’s charity, the Air Ambulance who provide an essential service attending emergencies quickly, especially to those in remote areas. Trophies were awarded to the first team home and first mixed team. This year was the first time we have not had an all female team entered. (Come on ladies) First team home was Coalville Wheelers in 57:33, the team comprised – Chris Sidney, Gareth Pymn, Chris Garner & Laurence Warren-Westgate. First Mixed Team was Ratae RC in 1:09.51, the team comprised – Peter Kott, Mark Newton, Debbie Cooper & Sally Richards. Full results are on the website - hinckleycrc.org Second overall and only 8 seconds behind Coalville Wheelers was Welland Valley CC in one of the closest finishes we have had at the 4up. Members, family members, volunteers & Supporters of HCRC provided support to enable the event to be staged. (Great support as always, thank you to everyone), Joanna Ellershaw provided a fantastic assortment of cakes, which appeared to go down very well. Can I also add a big thank you to all of the riders and how nice it was to hear so many riders thanking the marshals for their support in enabling this event to take place. The 9th Tuesday 10 of the 2024 season saw 14 riders take to the start on the K41/10, on a cool night with an 8 mph breeze from the North West. Results Overall - 1st Simon Law (Team Enable) 21.38, 2nd Oliver Searle (Team Enable) 21.54 & 3rd Joe Murray (HCRC) 22.31. Hi All, The 7th Tuesday 10 of the 2024 season, saw a total of 3 riders take to the start on the K41/10, on a cool, bright night with a 13mph breeze from the South West. Not what was forecast. Results Overall - 1st April Tacey (Coop Repsol) 22.27, 2nd Mike Costello (Race Hub) 22.42 & 3rd Matt Finch (LFCC) 29.43. April’s first ride in this year’s TNT’s was rewarded with a 1st overall, this following her recent rides in the Paris- Roubaix, Amstel Gold, GP Mazda Schelkens and Ride London, plus others. Mike was 2nd for the second week in a row, this time setting his fastest time of the year, with regular TNT rider Matt taking 3rd. During the annual Hinckley Cycle Racing Club Members breakfast club run, Club Chair, Eleanor Mather, welcomes new President Morgan Reynolds to his new role. Morgan, who has been a member of HCRC since 1968, takes over the role following the loss of Trevor Page, founder and life President who sadly passed away in 2023. During his time with the Club Morgan has been active in many areas helping to support and promote cycling and HCRC in whatever way possible.
